Talent is a free God given gift, that is why it must be honored. (moneyed)


Artists across the board are still facing difficulties with promoters and event organizers in-competencies. Artists are career orientated people, however often than not they find themselves being made to showcase their crafts at lesser value, but expected to outdo themselves. 

There is a trend  that local promoters & event organizers are into, they put up local talent on the events line-up, without the decency of following proper channels to secure a booking with that particular artist first. Many artists locally find their names listed on events that they were never booked for. This is a one down as artists find themselves in difficult situations even opting to perform for free, just so they do not disappoint their fans. 

This disrespect is at the detriment of artists career & survival and growth, not to mention relationship built with fans. Promoters have to wake up and realize that their events are made by these artists brand they splash on their gig flyers so easily without realizing that these are parents, spouses, providers. 

The lack of professionalism is so damning!

There has been so many instances where an event is hosted and artists from outside, or national artists get paid, however our locals are expected to work for free. The locals who were fundamental in getting most of these local events successful. It has become common practice 

To be fair, artists needs to start to respect their brands as well, to be vigilant and know the basics of the business side. 

We should demand professionalism within the industry!
